Prepare For Your Appointment

To ensure our clinic is running smoothly and your family has a positive and experience that maximizes the time spent with your healthcare provider, we kindly ask that all patients review the following information.

Please note that our physicians are consultant based physicians, meaning they do not provide primary care. If you need help finding a primary care physician please visit the following link: albertafindadoctor.ca

Before Your Visit :

Your physician may ask that you complete intake forms prior to your first visit. This is to help your physician better understand your child’s concerns and allow more time for helpful discussion during your appointment.

Our clinic uses Ocean CognisantMD to collect intake forms electronically. If required, your physician will send you an e-mail inviting you to complete intake forms.

Your First Visit :

Your first visit if often the longest, depending on the age of your child and the nature of the concern, it may last between 45-90 minutes. Please come prepared with your child’s Alberta Health care card. It is often helpful to bring a small quiet toy or book to help keep younger children occupied during this visit.

We kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes early in order to register, review our office policies and have your child’s weight and height measured.

Follow-Up :

Follow-up visits are generally scheduled for 15-45 minutes, depending on the concern.

If you have multiple new concerns on follow-up, your physician may request to review the most pressing concerns and schedule a second appointment to address additional issues.

Late or Missed Appointments :

To reduce missed appointments, our clinic will confirm the date and time of your appointment at least 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment.

We kindly ask that families make every effort to be on time for their appointments. We understand that adverse weather, traffic, and illness happen and we ask that you contact the clinic as soon as possible if you are running late. This allows our staff to make alternative arrangements if necessary.

You may be charged a fee for appointments that are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance, or that are missed.
